Dear dontstopbelievin : One immediate observation is that in less than twenty-four hours, you have posted your original resume and two follow-ups looking for immediate feedback. So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at your material.

Data shown at the college board’s web site shows that the midpoint from two years back at Boston College for a three-way SAT score is about 2020. We have seen these scores creeping up over the last two years so expect the midpoint to be about 2050-2080 at this point. Since you have not shown a sectional breakdown, we hope that the weakness, if any, is in the writing section as opposed to the critical reading or mathematics sections.

It would seem that your time would be better spent focusing on SAT I and ACT examinations rather than a retake on an SAT II in Biology which is currently sporting a score of 580. Your advanced placement science course in Biology should be telling your story here as opposed to the SAT II exam. Therefore, I would recommend that you rethink your strategy for your fall semester standardized testing. Have you discussed this with your guidance counselor at school?

While you are listed in top 10% in rank, typically, composite averages of 91 do not crack the top 10%. Your awards and school partication (clubs, band) seem strong although you do not show any sports (intramural or otherwise) at all in your profile. The volunteerism line (550+ hours is a full time job for three to four months) shows a substantial investment without any further description. You need to expand on that material substantially.

Honestly, there is no reason why you are not acceptable, but again, you are that middle of the pack candidate who could possibly be deferred. Establishing other safe and expected collegiate alternatives is recommended just to be sure.

sorry to bring this post back up again; but what does my chance look like for EA? also, my rank changed over the summer from 10% to 11% because people moved in and out of the area.
