I live in California and go to a Public school.

That is my 10-12 weighted GPA; I believe my UC GPA will be slightly higher because it will not include my non college prep classes.
And will they care that my SAT I is lacking if my ACT is higher?

Oh they don’t? I thought people don’t get accepted because of their majors or colleges? If someone applied for an unpopular major, wouldn’t they have a better chance at admission?

your sat I is a bit low, but I think you’ll make it. UC’s do count ACTs. I don’t think you need to retake it. i got a 570 in reading for sat I and they accepted me, but my other 2 was 700+ though. Just do well and write something unique for your personal statements, best of luck.

i think it’s for berkeley that if you applied for an unpopular major that’ll you’ll get accepted more easily, but it’s really hard to change your major there. my friend applied to berkeley for some kind of forestry and he got in, but he got rejected by all the other UC’s.

@Jesuis, I think you’ll be fine given your info here. Your major and college don’t affect admission, but you just may not get into your #1 for either if they are popular. However, you can usually change your major to what you want (given you fulfill all requirements and do well in prerequisite classes). Personally I know people who have gotten in to this school and other good ones with much less. Just write a good personal statement and keep up the good work!
