Chance Please!

Hi guys, I'm an international asian student taking the IB Diploma Programme. I'll be applying to Duke's Biology department (Bachelor of Sciences). Anyways here are my stats:

IB Grades:
Chemistry (HL): 6
Biology (HL): 7
English (HL): 6

Maths (SL): 6
Economics (SL): 6
English (SL): 6

Total: 37/42 (With additional points, probably 39/45)

GPA Conversion: 4.0

SATs:
M - 680, CR - 710, W - 620 (Got a 6 in my essay...) Total: 2010
Biology - Taking in November
Chemistry - Taking in November

ECs:
Student Leader
Head of Environmental Action
Organizer of Cancer Fund's Stride for a Cure Event
Leader of Can-Recycling Project
Volunteer at Local Hospital
100+ hours of service
2-week Medicine Course at University of Toronto
Volunteer English Teacher at Local Primary School
English Editor of School Magazine
A-Division Club Tennis Team (6 years)
Varsity Basketball Team (4 years)

I also have one question, if you guys have the time: I'm aware that my writing score is well below standard for Duke. But since I take Higher Level English and have a good reference about my ability to write from my English teacher, would it make that 620 somewhat less significant in the admissions officer's eyes? Also, would a fantastic personal statement and supplementary essay have a similar effect?

Thanks in advance guys.

i think thats great for an international student. i have lived in the states all my life and only speak english and did even worse (610) on my CRITICAL READING!! but my 710 on writing (i hope) kinda makes up for it. what i have heard duke does is that it takes CR+writing and averages them and adds that score to math.
i am also an IB student and i think HL English is quite impressive to show.and getting a 6 on that exam is also fabulous to show
