I have good ec's

i wanted to know if uc's connsider my reading score since i have been here in the us just for a year

i have mentioned in my essay that i've been here for just a year. but the problem is i'm OOS so i don't know if in this budget crisis this is a good thig or not???

First and foremost, this is a UCI forum, and you ask for UC Davis, but they are still relatively similar in terms of getting in or not imo.

Now, I don’t know how the budget crisis is going to affect applicants, so I’m going to chance you based on what I know/experienced from last year.

Oh and isn’t there a test that does not depend on your reading or writing skills in English for international students that UC’s accept?

Even with your “good” EC’s, I’d still say you have a pretty low reach = 30-45%.

Your major also may have an impact: (i.e. bio major)

I apologize I am not too familiar with that; and as far as I know, I do not think the bio major is impacted, since almost 50% of the freshmen are bio majors anyway.

Do the UC’s take your TOEFL into consideration? And “actually pretty good” is relative. If so, I’d say you may have around a 50-60%.

Best thing to do is just apply and take the chance of getting in or not, because it is not always predictable.
