In the RU application it asks for your 3 top preferences.

Now i don’t even know if i am going to get into Rutgers (NB campus) but I was thinking if I should keep my 3 preferences :

RU SAS

RU Business School (Its competitive to get into for first year students)

Newark Business School ( Easier to get into? If i dont get into those two atleast i can get into Newark hopefully?)

What do you guys suggest/think?

Also do you think i should apply now or wait for my November scores to come on the 20th. I am anyway retaking in December as well.

Yeah…Rutgers Prep…the high school! Not Rutgers NB.Seriously…I don’t think you can get into Rutgers NB with that GPA and SAT now that rolling admission is gone. That was the problem Rutgers was having. From that rolling admissions they where getting this wide range of students( academically). There where students with 1175 and 3.3 GPAs getting in at the same time students with a 1500 SAT and 4.0 GPA.As a result,Rutgers academia started to slip, and it showed in the annual college rankings. So…the Rutgers personal got together and said that they didn’t want Rutgers to be that “safety state school” that all the Harvard and Yale rejects went to to sulk from their almighty ivy rejection.I know alot of people want to make friends and convince each other they are " guaranteed in".The only way to find out is to apply…good luck

And while eliminating or modifying a rolling admissions system helps manage the decision making process, it doesn’t do anything to alter the applicant pool. I’ve never heard of an applicant with superior academic credentials who was turned away by RU because it, early on, admitted large numbers of those with lesser numbers.

If what RutgersLA says is true, sounds like the same guys who manage the stadium expansion project are at the helm of admissions.

Anyway, back to the OP: your numbers are within range for Rutgers, so go for it.

rebelliousduck…say what you want. But your the same guy criticizing them 3 years ago,and are the first one ****ed off if you can’t get a seat now.All large money deals ( especially sports related) when regarding NCAA sports always come before academics.Obviously along with your limp-wit sarcasim you forgot to take an economics or business management class.

Pretty funny, RutgersLA. We’ll see how many of those 13,000 (or whatever number Rutgers can finally pay for) the firm of Mulcahy, Schiano & Co. will fill next year. And I really don’t need more than the two season tickets I have now.

apply now. you should apply as early as possible since fhlx says rolling’s still on.
just note on your app that you have new scores coming, then they won’t judge you solely on your current scores. (and if they like those scores, then they’ll just admit you)
I submitted my app with Oct scores…they didn’t admit me for a month so I retook SATs in Dec (which upped my scores so I got $2500 more in scholarship) they still took 3 more months after that to admit me though :)

Yes, put NB business as a reach. My friend had a similar score and she was rejected. They told her her SATs were too low, but each person’s different. It doesn’t hurt to try. Good luck.

I got into NB B-School this year with a 2020 (superscored, 1970 highest one sitting) and a 3.5 GPA with NO honors or AP classes. Your weighted GPA with AP/Honors could be enough to put you over. You have a decent shot.

CurdouroyBear–encouraging to read that you were admitted after waiting a few months. Reading all these posts re: kids admitted with a 2-3 week turn around were a little disconcerting!!

Btw, Rutgers has rolling admission. According to everything I’ve heard, it’s to an applicant’s advantage to apply as early as possible.
