<p>Well I think you're list is fine. I have a 2.9 GPA and a 1950 SAT score, with really good EC's and an intriguing essay (subjective) on my experience living abroad and being independent with my father gone to Iraq. </p>
<p>Anyhow, it's important you do well on your essays. It can make up for grades or for your low SAT, as it reveals two things: your character and how much you really want to get into a school. CMU is one of those select schools that is more statistic number oriented but you never know until you apply. Your chances are pretty slim but a chance is a chance and if you really want to go there, apply. Just be realistic about your chances and don't expect anything.</p>
