Chance? Possibly ED? Having so much trouble deciding which school to apply ED >.<

I'm a legacy by the way (my mom went to UPenn). I'm not really sure what my first choice school is right now, the past few days I've gone from small LAC to a large school because I've realized my life has been really sheltered, and I want a big school where I can "bloom" or "spread my wings" so to speak. I don't really want to have TOO MUCH guidance and support.

uw GPA: 97.7% w: 98.6%
Rank: Not really sure, school doesn't rank. They do give out valedictorian, salutatorian and top 20. I'm definitely in the top 20, possibly salutatorian. Class of about 350?

Definitely do a lot more research before you apply under a binding early decision program. You want to be able to feel that you have no regrets if you are accepted. While it is true that being a legacy holds the greatest weight for those applicants who have applied early decision, you should try not to think of getting into college as a game, because if you do, you may end up unhappy or disappointed. I truly believe that it’s all about having the right outlook and doing what is right for YOU. Then all of the pieces will fall into place.
People may tell you different things about your SAT scores or grades, extracurriculars, etc, but try not to let them sway you too much. These things all matter, especially what you have accomplished in the high school classroom, but remember that it is about the big picture. The best people to talk to about this would be teachers or counselors at your school. But in the end, college admissions are still unpredictable, and again the only way to deal with this is to do what’s right for you.

Thanks Poeme. I’m going to visit the college soon hopefully, most likely over spring break. I’m just so unsure of exactly what I want. I guess I’ll visit a bunch of colleges and hopefully one will give me that “college orgasm” (that’s what the lady at some seminar while I was at Brown called it :P)
