Do I stand a chance to get in Schreyers or Cornell in regular decision?

Any recommendations of other schools I should apply to based on my major and my grades?
Thanks for your responses! I'll chance you back!

“GPA is 4.85/4.0”
I’ve never understood this. How can you have a 4.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale? Or am I reading this incorrectly?

one is weighted, the other is unweighted

AP classes are worth more “gpa” points, honors less, academic even less, and then accelerated the least.

Thanks for the explanation.
Then your GPA is 4.85 (weighted) and 4.0 out of a possible 4.0 (unweighted). Correct?
If I have this correct then you have never received anything other than As during your first 3 years in HS? Congrats! That is amazing and I’m sure in combination with all your APs and 1440 / 1600 SAT that Schreyers would be delighted to have you. Of course you still have to write the essays, but with a 690 in SAT Writing I’m sure you’ll have no problem.

Good Luck!!!

schreyers i would say is a definate, where cornell may be a low reach, but i am sure you will be fine at cornell, but you need to write amazing essays to be sure of this.
definately if i were you would apply to more schools.

also i would apply to georgia tech, for it is big just like psu and cornell, and is one of the best engineering programs in the country plus an unbelievable business school, so you would be set
bucknell and lehigh both have great biomedical engineering programs
vanderbilt does too

please chance back??

Correct aglages

Thanks for the advice everyone, I will look into G tech.

I wouldn’t say that you are a shoe-in for Schreyer just off of these stats.

The SHC is blind to your standardized tests scores when they make their admits. So they will be basing their decision off of your: GPA, ECs, courseload, essays, and teacher recs. Your GPA and ECs look to be at and above avg for the SHC. Write some solid essays and get some stellar letters of rec and I think you have a shot.

If you have any other questions about the SHC let me know, I am a current sophomore in the honors college. Majoring in Biology.

Hey cwryan1, i just sent you a private msg.
is there another way we can talk, aim msn or w.e so its faster?
