reaching for NYU, Georgetown, Chicago University, Boston University, Notre Dame, Univ. Virginia, UCLA, Berkeley

You should be in the ballpark for all of those schools, since your SAT scores are very good. Rising GPA should help to overcome the 3.5. Do well on your essays and possibly add another CA state school as another “safety,” as you don’t really have any except Berkeley and UCLA since you are in state.

Notre Dame 90%
BU 80%
UCLA 80%
UVA 50%
Berkeley 35%
University of Chicago 25%
Georgetown 20%

I tried to be accurate. If you got an 800 on the IIC your chances would be higher (720 is low for some of these schools, but your 2300 makes up for it).

I’d say the responses of the above posters are pretty accurate…but you might get more answers if you post this in the “What are my chances forum?”

Your SAT 1 looks really good. Most of your APs, and SAT2s are good, but not great. I would recommend retaking, or trying some different SAT2s to make yourself more competitive. Your extracurriculars look pretty decent. A part-time job would be impressive, but that’s just something to think about.

Another thing to think about is what you are passionate about. Your extracurriculars are varied which can be good, but it doesn’t give me any insight as to who you are as a person. Make sure your passions show through in your essay - you want your personality to stand out!

I would advise you to apply RD so you can continue your upward GPA trend, and maybe strengthen your subject test scores.

P.S. I consider Notre Dame equally, if not more, competitive than Georgetown for what it’s worth.

Might look at Holy Cross located 1 hour from Boston. HC is similar to ND and Georgetown but easier to get into. Holy Cross is also need blind for financial aid(same as Ivies).
