looking at top tier schools....

HELP!

Any help…?

top tier schools?

sorry, not happening.

I’m not sure a state flagship is going to happen.

Although these schools are not one of the best schools, but they’re one of the best for B students like you:

LeMoyne College (Many students I knew who had few ECs, had B averages throughout high school, and had few Honors/AP classes got accepted here)

CUNY–Baruch College (The average GPA there is 3.0. The SAT range without the writing section is 1020-1230)

Sacred Heart University (Average GPA: 3.3. Average SAT Range: 990-1150/1600)

Valparaiso University (Average GPA: 3.4. Average ACT Range: 22-28/36)

University of Michigan-Dearborn (Average GPA: 3.4. Average ACT Range: 21-26
/36)

St. Xavier University (Average GPA: 3.2. Average ACT range: 21-23/36)

You have good ECs, so don’t worry about them. In your essay, you can write about why you had problems in your school work. Being lazy will not be accepted. IBfootballer is right that you are probably not going to the best colleges, but you will get into a state college. You got into Northwestern, so you never know if you can get into better schools than these.

College will always be expensive, unless you get a free ride or a lot of financial aid. You can get a job part time and during the summer to help pay some of the costs. But still most people who do that still get a lot of debt after college. GOOD LUCK!!!

You didn’t tell where you lived, so I had to my best in suggesting a college. It’s best that you apply to a college close to where you live. You can do the research by yourself if I did not do a good job with my answer. Here are some suggested sites:

What if I was to be a 5th year Senior and got a High School Diploma versus getting the GED?

I don’t think going to high school for a fifth year will improve your chances for admission to top tier schools. Fortunately there are plenty of other excellent schools from which to choose.

any more advice? Because it’s not like I am unqualified, there was just a snag in my high school that I really had no choice but to get the GED…
