Chance someone with low GPA PLEASE!

Hey guys,
I am an American citizen who goes to an American school in Asia that sends a lot of graduates to Top 20 schools.
I know Brown is a big reach, but it really is my first choice school.
Can anyone tell me whether I have ANY chance?

Essays:
A teacher (former Harvard admissions staff) said my commonapp essay is extremely well-written so I’m not worried about it.
I’m currently working on the supplements and things are going smoothly.

Intended Major:
Environmental Science, Economics

totally
one hundred percent

I have the same WGPA and similar if a tad more favorable test scores, and I was deferred. But we rank, which I think hurt me quite a bit, and my essays were perhaps not as great as they could have been. So, to answer your question, yes you have a chance and it definately worth applying.

Thanks guys!

GO APPLY!

I have ok grades and sucky ECs and I'm still applying because I'm in love with Brown.

You never know...

Definitly apply, you never know. My grades weren't too fantastic but I still got in. I really think essays help a lot...make it stand out from the thousands of other applicants.

yeah.. a friend who got accepted to Brown told me that mostly all students had B's on their transcripts ...

brown acceptance is a lil unpredictable.. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY APPLY! ;)

Definately apply
Getting in to any ivy is tough BUT
I think you'd have a better chance at acceptance if you pu down language/Japanese studies as an intended major. it correlates with our proven academic strengths. Change majors after you get there if you want. Good luck!!

wow I'm much more confident now, thanks a lot people!
I'll definately apply and try...though Brown hasn't been accepting anyone from my school for the past few years.
Even Princeton/Stanford takes a few each year!
Pretty odd. Any thoughts on that?

cgye, thanks for the suggestion but sighh I've written all of my essays already
and I don't really have time to change them now...
ideally my major SHOULDN'T have any influence though, right?
