Chance? Sorry...

I am currently a junior at a very competitive high school, ranked top #100 on the USNewsandWorldReport list of "Gold Medal High Schools" or something like that.

GPA: 3.4 UW 3.7 W
Rank: 43/454

SAT: CR 700, M 750, W 730 M+CR= 1450 Total:2180 First Time

SAT II: Math Level 1- 770 Math Level 2- N/A Rest will take in the Spring

ACT: Have not taken

AP’s: Taking AP English, accelerated Sciences This year, as well as several other english courses. A couple of advanced classes, French and Bio and Chem, school does not offer honors.

Intended major: English

Essays- I am a very strong writer, therefore when it does come time to write these essays.. I will do a good job of linking my hook to defining myself as a person.

Extracurricular activities: Business Leaders Club, School Newspaper, Statistics Club, Working for local library on a selective council, Started a Business, Started a website for submitting essays, won several writing contests.

Hooks- Chronic Illness and a "Series of Unfortunate events" which held my GPA down.

What are my chances? Also, would anyone like to recommend me some other schools safety and matches, preferably big universities. Strongly considering Pitt for their English Program, and the "big school" aspect.
And also can you chance for PSU? Thanks.
I feel like this is a low match, but not too sure. And that PSU is a safety, but need further guidance.

bumpppppppp

If you present the reasoning for your low gpa in your essay you will most definitely be in! you have better sat than me and I got in! good luck!

dont worry, your gpa is fine and your SAT is amazing…I wouldnt be surprised if they admitted you based on that score alone

Oh and if you are currently enrolled at UPitt, can you talk a little about the english program if you have any experience?
