chance, suggestions, and questions, oh my!

Hey everybody, I'm currently a freshman at a big state school in the northeast. I'm applying to transfer to nyu, columbia, and barnard but I was wondering where else I should look. I want a school that is in a city and offers a lot of independence. I want the students to know when to work and when to play but to do both well. I would like the intellectually motivated students to be the majority (or at the very least academically motivated). Nothing too keg/frat/bong-ish, please. Any suggestions?
My stats are:
HS GPA: 3.4 (B- lowest) until senior year. Senior year - family/moral crisis (does anybody else smell an essay?) so I passed all of my classes but just barely. I'm not sure what my GPA was at the end of it all. not good.
SAT: 2090 (CR690 M670 W730)
SATIIs: literature 700, math 1 720, bio 660
APs (ironically, many are from senior year): bio (molecular) 4, english language 5, english lit 5, statistics 5, calc ab 2 (question: do I have to include that? does it look better to show that I took the test and bombed or that I just never took the test at all?)
College GPA: 3.87 (from 1st semester. 2nd semester looks about the same)
major: Sciology (I'm pre-law, but that's usually just an advisory program and not a major)
recs: good stuff from profs who know me well
honors/awards: dean's list, academic scholarship to current school, ap scholar with honors, national merit commended scholar, several science fairs from hs, local/regional literature contest winner
employment: receptionist at the same pediatrician's office since sophmore year of hs
college ECs: club that benefits the world hunger project, hillel, hall council, and i practice but don't compete with the crew club

So, while we're checking out my stats, anybody want to chance me? Any other schools to check out? Any advice is always appreciated. Thanks

eeee

so your final gpa was what, safe to say less than a 3.0?

anyways, for soph. transfer your hs transcript will carry more importance than one semester worth of college grades. applying to columbia with probably a 2 point something from hs, the worst of which came in your most recent year, is probably absurd. nyu is iffy, you might have a shot with this economy, but again applying for soph. admissions with 2 point something hs gpa after barely passing your senior year is not going to look good.

you will be a much more competitive applicant if you wait a year and maintain your gpa...work on making your application stand out, your ec's look very, very basic...if you were to apply for junior year you might want to look at gtown, gwu, ucla, bc
