Chance the boyfriend for Williams ED

Hi guys! My BF wants so badly to go to williams and is applying ED, what do you think are his chances?

The hard part is that he's an athlete (soccer) so that is a lot of his appeal, but he has good grades too. He has been in contact with the coach and gone to the scouting camp and all that so keeping that in mind...here are his stats:

School: Very good public school sends many/some grads to top schools

GPA: Junior year = 97 (Weighted)
Overall = I believe around a 95 weighted (grades have an upward trend from freshman to junior year)

SAT: 730 M, 720 W, 690 CR = 2140
SAT II: Math I: 700, US History: 680. and others im not sure of.

Has most rigorous courseload

APs: 10th: Euro (4)
11th: Psych (5), US History (5), Lang and Comp (4)
12th: (will be taking) Literature, Enivronmental Science, Calculus BC, Econ, Spanish

Activities:
-SOCCER...varsity since sophmore year and will be a captain for senior year. On an intensive team all year round, has gone to the Amherst, Williams, Yale, etc. scouting camps.
-member of Amnesty Intl and elected President for next year

Work:
-Camp counseling and also went toward community service hours

I know there are more things, but these are the main chunks of an application and his ECs aren't going to be much besides soccer, soccer, soccer.

I'd appreciate any truthful comments because Im not him so you can be as harsh as you want. Thanks so much!

Oh, and also I don't know if this matters, but neither of his parents went to college.

The ECs are just fine. They're very good :D Colleges prefer students who concentrate on one activity that they excel in, rather than dabbling in a billion thing and being mediocre in all of them.

I wish his SAT scores were a little higher, though. Williams is a tough school to get into. Hope he puts the essays into good use. And also hope his APs go great as well.

Coupled with good recommendations he has a chance!(but that's just one dog's opinion, not the admissions off.'s :D )

Ooooooh...first generation college student is also a good thing :D In fact, a clever student can always spin that to his advantage hint

I believe the Williams coach explained to him that athletes get slack for grades and SATs but that Williams is still a tough school at wanted at least 2000 and even more preferably above 2100, for athletes. He is an extremely talented soccer player but i believe his appeal is that his grades and scores and good for a non-athlete too.

thanks Hitch Hiker!
And anyone else have any thoughts or input? It would be greatly appreciated :)

For a normal applicant, I would say that he wouldn't get in.

but first generation college student, soccer athlete....

It really depends on whether he ends up being recruited or not. He is in their academic range for recruitment, but if they decide not to recruit him for soccer then he isn't going to get in.

But if he has been at scouting camps and has been talking to coaches, then I think he should be fine
