loopyz, I hope you realize that UCLA and Cal’s admissions standards are nearly equal. Cal might have higher numerical averages but UCLA has lower admission rates.

I’d say you were a low reach for both UCLA and Cal because of your SAT scores and GPA and in for UCSD and UCSB. You’re a reach for Northwestern and very high reach for Stanford.

^Agreed. 10

UCs- match
Northwestern-low reach/reach
Stanford-reach/high reach
USC-match/low reach

hope it helps & good luck

Solid app overall. Good ECs, shows passion for wrestling. Essays seem personal and interesting.
The only thing that could pull you back is you SAT I. Good, but not amazing (At least for Stanford)
But you should be fine  you’ll get into a few, if not all of your schools :)

Chance me back please!

I just glanced at your personal statement point because of Swede’s response and it seems to me that you’re covering too much ground in your essay. How many words is it?

My 2 UC essays are a collective 942 words.

My essay for the other 3 is 700 and about a page long.

NW and Stanford only reaches

Thanks, let’s keep 'em coming!

i agree with loopyz
good scores btw
chance me back please ! :D

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1024531-what-my-chances.html</a></p>

All of your UC’s are matches; you will definitely get into SB and SD. On getting into Berkeley and LA, a lot of people worry about it but as long as you have 1900+ SAT and 4.1+ weighted GPA and live in California, you will get in. It gets drastically harder if you are out of stae, of course. Northwestern is a mid reach because of your relatively low SAT. If you can push it to 2200+ you will be fine. Stanford is a high reach, again because of your SATs, and also your AP scores. Don’t get your hopes up on getting into Stanford.

Chance me back!! :D

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1024676-please-chance-me-will-chance-back-d.html</a></p>

A 1900 is not high enough for UCLA or Cal.

Thanks, guys! Keep chancing and I’ll get back to you!

omgzomg I knew plenty of people (including myself) who’ve had over 1900+ SAT and 4.1+ weighted GPA and live in California and still not admitted into Cal or UCLA (I was rejected from UCLA, accepted at Cal).

If you look at the data sets, there is a good chance for a 4.0+GPA california resident to get in, but you’re not “in” just because you have certain numbers.

Yeah… UCLA and Cal will be more selective than 1900’s and 4.1’s… keep the chances coming, guys!

I second what loopyz wrote
