Chance the indecisive kid shooting for top tier schools

most likely french.
i’d take classes in mandarin though so i dont get too rusty.
french is very similar to spanish so i’d benefit either way.

i dont think i can get myself to ed huntsman. im just not sure penn is my top choice really.

buuuuuuuuuump
ill chance back!!

Well if you’re really doubting ED UPenn don’t Rush into it. Remember it’s binding and you really don’t want to spend the next four years of your life at somewhere you’re not happy. However, you do have some time to think about this and see what you really want to do.

what about EA at Yale
I’m afraid that if i dont ED at huntsman, it would be a wasted opportunity
im not sure its my top choice though
Is SCEA at Yale advantageous? Yales the other school I really like too.

Your scores are insane…I think you can get in anywhere.

thanks bro
excpet now adays scores arent helpful

also, dont you guys think its lame that arabic is considered caucasian?
its like ok at the airport you say im a threat but on paper for college applications im another white kid? thanks a tonnn uncle sam

Hello.
Honestly, I think that applying anywhere ED is a waste because you’re obviously a strong applicant and since you’ve not set your heart on any one school, applying ED would probably just lead you to regret your decision.
I think that you’re best suited for Harvard because of your interest in econ/ international relations. That being, I also suggest you apply to Yale SCEA because you don’t lose anything by applying early action and I feel that applying early action to Stanford would be too competitive given your geographical location. Also, I don’t suggest Penn. Even if you spent a summer there, I think its a watered down version of an ivy located in an excuse of a city. MIT is too unbalanced and because everyone is math/science oriented, I feel that the type of people you would meet will be too indistinct and would not provide an enjoyable college experience. The place itself is not that aesthetically pleasing. Your match schools (Berkeley, Duke, etc) are good fits.
Also, because you are a male student, I wouldn’t suggest putting down econ as your projected major, especially at schools where its the most popular major, because everyone wants to study econ and you would just fade into the background. This does not mean that you should put down an obscure major like medieval orthography.
Also, I think that part of the fun of applying to all these schools is to hear from all of them, whether its good or bad. Don’t get too stressed out, just enough to keep you on your feet. You only get to apply to college once.

Yale is not like Penn - you don’t get a bump from applying early.

But if Yale is your top choice then applying early would make sense. You just have to go in with the understanding that Huntsman may not work out.

thanks valentinocuevas -
yea im not sure what i want to study right now. right now im into race and ethnic studies.
obviously i’d be thrilled to get into harvard. i’m just not really convinced i could get in.

cubsfan15-
thanks for the advice! i think i’m willing to risk the huntsman aspect to find out about where i get in everywhere else. i’m not set on huntsman and i’d like to see how i do at other schools. i think i will apply early to yale if my application is ready.

in terms of essays though, i’ve been stressing alot. are the essays really very important? im starting to think everything i write is terrible and cliched.

thanks again!

Very good application, like the person above said, I see no weaknesses. You have a great shot for all these schools, while of course due to their selectivity there are no guarantees! Best of luck, hope you get in!

Don’t worry about it. Even if there were debate, decathlon, math olympiad, etc. at your school, would you even be involved in all of them? All of those activities are at my school and I’m in none of them because they don’t interest me at all. You did the best you could with the resources given to you and I really don’t think science olympiad would have been beneficial to an applicant that wants to major in econ.

Also, there is no point in exposing your weaknesses. Focus on your strengths and make sure you convey them to the colleges. Don’t worry about what you could have done because you are already a strong applicant as is!

You will 100% get into a really good college so don’t worry about that.

what do you mean by good?
do you think i should apply somewhere ED to take advantage of the boost? or do you think i’ll still have a chance RD to schools like columbia and penn (maybe huntsman?).

thanks!

buuuuuuummmmp

You are in everywhere, its pretty much a given. GOOD LUCK!!!

I agree that your academic history is very impressive. I just don’t understand why you don’t capitalize and use proper grammar. You are applying to Harvard after all.

I would do ED Huntsman.
That will be a killer.

NorthwesternU: He might be a ■■■■■, but we always give the people the benefit of the doubt.

footskineater: i am not a ■■■■■. i’m not sure huntsman is my top choice though. do you think i have a chance if i were to apply rd.

northwesternu: because it’s good to relax and be a normal teenager everyonce in a while
but thank you for the advice. i scored a 36 on the english section of the act so i think my grammar skills are just fine :).

bumppp? please
