Recs:

My grades dropped in my sophomore year because I moved to a new school and the stress got to me.

How I see it:

Northwestern EA low reach
Univeristy of Michigan low reach
University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign low match
Rice reach
Carnegie Mellon low reach
Purdue low match
UW-Madison match
WashU reach
UMinn-Twin Cities safety

i agree with 2-iron on everything except northwestern, which is not a low reach, it is a reach
your low unweighted GPA will hurt you badly

What was your GPA last year (junior year)? It would help you if the lower grades were confined to sophomore year.
Colleges will appreciate the strength of your curriculum. I don't think NU is such a reach.

Sophomore year GPA:
W: 4.167
UW: 3.333 :(

Junior year GPA:
W: 4.5
UW: 3.667

Well my junior year was a third of a point better than my sophomore year, but still not spectacular...

EDIT: I forgot PreCalc Honors to my honors list, not like it makes much of a difference :P

bump :( (10char)

Last bump :(

Northwestern (EA)--reach
Univeristy of Michigan--high match
University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign--match
Rice--low reach
Carnegie Mellon--low reach
Purdue--match
UW-Madison--safety
WashU--high match
UMinn-Twin Cities--low match

i think as long as your GPA shows improvement, they'll be a little (very little, but something is better than nothing) more understanding.
if your ACT score really is a33+ then you'll be okay. rock your essays though!

chance me back?
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/565214-chance-stern-ed-por-favor.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/565214-chance-stern-ed-por-favor.html</a></p>

This is really scary.
I'm a rising junior with almost identical stats, test scores, and EC's.
Plus I'm looking at many of these schools.
Definitely stickying this one.
Good luck!
BTW, which state are you from?

I'm from Illinois.

Thanks for the chances for everyone that replied, btw! :)

UMinn is less selective than Madison.

Northwestern has EA?

Northwestern is ED or RD, not EA...

Sorry, my mistake.

it looks like your indian too? that hurts with those test scores..

I take pride in my perfect math scores :(

how about your not so perfect GPA and class rank? i say deny by Rice... just cause your not in the top ten and 92 percent of their freshman class last year was in the top ten alone.

i'll say in everywhere except Michigan, where it's a crap shoot oos. I'm not saying you wont' get in, I'm just saying it's unpredictable. rice is a reach too

chance me too <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/569604-so-last-one-had-too-many-errors-one-s-better.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/569604-so-last-one-had-too-many-errors-one-s-better.html</a></p>

ED would help quite a bit. Being from IL would hurt, espeically if you are from Chicago and you are probably aware of this! But just apply anyway!

By the way, check out MMSS! If you like stats, you'll like MMSS!!!

MMSS, Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences, Northwestern University

I'll definitely check out MMSS :)

NEW ACT SCORE, PLEASE RECHANCE :P

September: E:32, M:36, R:32, S:26, C:32
