Out of state (Maryland)
3.0 unweighted
4.2 weighted
Ive taken 2 AP courses this year and last year, the rest (except graduation reqs) have been honors. A few "GT" classes that fall between honors and AP when an AP credit isnt offered for that class.
Varsity track for 2 years, orchestra for 4, theater for the first 2, and envirothon for the last 3 years.
1800 SATs
College essay written in AP eng about my experiences with computers, revision aided with the teacher
Im looking at the computer science or hardware engineering majors

Chances for admission?

i would say slam dunk for admissions, don’t know the odds of your engineering major?

Your stats are a bit low for engineering majors. You may get admitted to the University but not automatic admit to the School of Engineering. Check out the admissions data on the Engineering School of the middle 50 percent to see where you fit.

Just wondering how is your gpa a 3.0 unweighted and a 4.2 weighted seems a little much.

Getting a B in 5 classes, one AP and the rest honors, would come out to be a 3.0 gpa and a 4.2 weighted.

I was thinking on going the first few years for REQ classes and then hopefully work my way into the engineering department later on, I bombed my freshman year in HS and dropped my gpa pretty low.

Honors classes aren’t considered weighted by colleges, only AP and IB, just FYI
