Chance This OOS... Please!

Go to a very competitive public school in Washington- ranked 50th best public school in the nation.
GPA- 3.52 (UW) 3.75 (W) *Excellent upward grade trend.
ACT- 25</p>

AP Psychology
AP Statistics
AP Environmental Science
Leadership
AP American Gov.</p>

<p>Teacher & counselor recs- excellent, lots of thought put into both.
Essay- very good.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars-
-4 year varsity tennis letter winner- 9-12th grade
-Captain of my club tennis team
-Gold Medal at the Jewish Olympics
-Play in competitive tournaments locally
-Senior Class Historian- 12
-Class Senator- 9-12
-President and Founder of Sports Debate Club- 10-12

-Member of A.S.P.E.N.-12 (Had to try-out)
- Head Tennis Pro during the summer at a Private Club.

Volunteer work at a local tennis club, through Key Club, camp counselor, district wide volunteering events, and various other events. (200+ hours)</p>

<p>you have an okay chance of getting in, as far as I can see--your GPA's a tad below, your act's low, but your ECs are great. if there's any chance of raising up that act score, then do it--if not, apply anyway, just make sure your essays are very good! Good luck!</p>

<p>Just a question, is it that much harder for oos applicants compared to in state? I know at some of the bigger publics such as UVA or the UC's it's extremely hard for oos students but how does Maryland match up?</p>

<p>Get close to 1300+ on SAT (M and CR), and you should have a decent chance if you apply early. As of right now, I see you waitlisted for September and admitted for the January semester.</p>
