Chance Thread for ILR

I’d like to apply to Cornell ILR ED (next year obviously). I have an 800 reading/650 math/ 750 writing. The math is awful, I know, and assume for now that it isn’t going to improve at all. I’m an A student in everything but Math (I have Bs in Math). I’m also a legacy at Cornell.

The essential question is: will the SAT Math and math grades be a problem? Other than I have very strong stats and am definitely a good fit for the school from a personality/extracurricular perspective. As I mentioned, I’m going ED and a legacy which is definitely a powerful boost.

From what I have seen, that math score won’t shut you out. Apply ED and make the rest of the application great.

Thanks. What have you “seen” to make you say or is it just a suspicion?

Won’t shut you out, but try to retake for math.

Your SAT scores are much higher than mine and I got accepted to ILR ED, so your scores will not keep you out. Also, as a legacy, you have a really good chance.

@SJJunior That’s pretty hopeful. Do you have a special hook? Are you a NY state resident?

No. I’m a white, middle class guy from Virginia.

@SJJunior what were your sat scores if you don’t mind me asking.

@KatieRose I got a 710 math/ 710 CR/ 650 writing super scored. My highest individual was 710 math/ 680 CR/ 650 writing.
