Emory doesn’t ask for Quarter grades, only in certain cases.

Have you recalculated your GPA on their site? That should give you a ballpark figure of where you are compared to their 50th percentile range. From a glance at your post I can see that you are heavily involved in extra curriculars. To me it’s beneficial as I’d like to think, even for myself, that these experiences let you grow as a person, something that can’t be taught by a book.

Bump! I applied to Emory University along with Oxford RD. Do I have a shot at all? I showed a little interest by contacting my admissions officer and submitted a pretty well written supplement essay along with the optional.

oh and I accidenly put down my superscored ACT. My single sitting ACT is 30 with 30 English, 30 Math, 31 Reading, 27 Science, and 10 Writing. I applied to Economics.

With that, I have a 3.5 Unweighted GPA. I hope they take into account the number of AP classes and Honors classes I have taken over the years. I don’t have too great of AP scores (mostly 3s) so I opted out to send them.

I would bet that you’re largely competing against those with comparable numbers of AP/honors classes so I wouldn’t expect much brownie points there (that said, GPA and strength of curriculum are the two most important factors in admission).

That’s going to make admission to the College of Arts and Sciences a bit more difficult (only 25% of admitted students had an unweighted GPA below 3.76). However, even though you’re almost exactly at the 25th percentile mark at Oxford GPA-wise, I’d be surprised if you didn’t get in with your test scores and extracurriculars–assuming you’ve demonstrated sufficient interest (in their view).

I think my unweighted is 3.5 but it is unofficial and the college will have to recalculate themselves. Do I not have a chance at all Regular Decision with my grades?

Not sure if it would’ve been Emory or not. but I wish D1 had applied ED SOMEWHERE! Freshman classes are half-filled all over the place, and the acceptance rates were much higher. Now it’s down to the clawing and scratching, it seems.

Yoadee, none of us can chance you, but your stats are below/near the 25% mark of Emory.

Also Tougis, just remember that in not applying ED, your daughter can compare merit/financial aid packages. Also as long as she didn’t only apply to uber reaches, she’ll get into at least a few great schools.
