<p>I'm currently in my junior year at a very competitive high school in the state of Alabama. Also, I've taken one of the most challenging curriculum offered at my school. This is my schedule: (Pre-AP is honors btw)</p>

<p>A downward trend is never good. Fix them grades! At this point, Duke is a pretty high reach. The other two are possible.</p>

<p>Your GPA seems strong, your testing should increase for all the schools listed.</p>

<p>USC is probably the closest to a match. However, its by no means a ‘safety’ if your ACT is not 29+. Maybe even a 28 would be considered. Marshall, Film School, and Engineering school are the most selective there. </p>

<p>Vandy & Duke chances increase with an ED application. I suggest Duke EDI (it’s the more prestigious school) and if that doesn’t work out then Vandy EDII. These are both super super reaches. I don’t think you would even be considered at this point. I would say students usually SAT 2100+ for those schools which translates to 31/32+ on ACT. </p>

<p>Look into applying to Emory as well.</p>
