Chance to get into b-school in University of Washington? Thanks!?

I will be a sophomore at UW next year, I'm planning on applying for Foster school of business. Right now I only have a 3.3 cumulative gpa, 3.2 for both calculus and econ 200, 3.8 for econ 201, 3.5 for accounting and 3.3 for English. Do I stand a chance of getting in to b-school? Thanks!

3.3 seems a bit low to be a competitive student…however, you still have a chance. If you do well on the writing assessment, I think you can make it, because that’s worth 35% of the decision. Are you applying for winter quarter through the UAG, or waiting to apply in the spring?

Thanks for the reply, I’m planning on applying for winter quarter. Btw do we get the result before Spring? I mean can I apply for Foster twice this year?

These are the numbers from the past admission period:

Admissions Factor Applicants/Admitted/Your Factors
Combined GPA 3.44/3.55/3.30
Pre-application GPA 3.38/3.62/3.45
WSA Score 3.67/4.32/??

Your cumulative GPA is under the average for all applicants. Your pre-application GPA is under the average for all admitted students. GPA counts for 65%, while the WSA counts for the other 35%. Applying during fall quarter for winter is more competitive than applying during spring quarter for fall.

Do you have a significant grade trend (maybe provide us with your GPA of each quarter)? Have you taken Acctg 225, Mgmt 200, and the statistics class yet?

In your personal statement, you can show your personal hardships that you have overcome and your diversity that you can offer to the school. Are you a first generation college student?

Also, just wondering, who were your instructors for your Econ 200/201 classes?

Good luck!
