Chance to go to a good 4 year college and graduate on time?

So, I don't remember why I decided to not care about freshman year and failed about five classes. Now sophomore year is almost over and I failed another two classes. We don't really have the GPA kind of system in our school, instead we use percentages. I want to take the classes I failed in summer school but, not everyone can get in.

TL;DR: I failed sever classes and I want to graduate on time and go to a good four year college.

So what is the question here? Retake your classes if you can and graduate.

My question was, what are my chances of getting into a good college if I retook some classes. Will it be looked down upon?

What do you consider a good college? As far as graduating on time, I’d recommend talking to your guidance counselor.

Why a 4 year college?

Actually any 4 year college is good enough for me at the moment and a 4 year because, I feel like it would be a lot of work if I had to go to a CC then transfer to a 4 year. I mean if I had to go to CC I would but, if there is another route than I’d take that.

What state are you in? If you can show an upward trend, your state flagship might take you.

@Vctory I am in New York. I don’t really know any colleges around here that I am interested in besides NYU but, my chances are pretty slim. Looked at the requirements and I am like out of league.

The SUNY’s are definitely viable options. See what you can do about retaking those classes, do well on your SAT, and try your hardest to get all A’s junior and senior years to show the colleges that you’re starting to care about school.

If you retake your classes does it replace your previous grade or will it just add in to your GPA?

Oh yea, I was wondering that too.

Anyone know?

Don’t know but I suppose it would matter on the state, the city, or the school so ask one of them. Sorry its not really helpful but it’s the best that I can thing off.
