I asked people to chance me a few times before, but I did not finish all my NYU essays and did not get any of my grades yet. I was basically just assuming my GPA but I got everything now, officially finished everything, and will send my application in pretty soon.

I am a freshman at Baruch College taking liberal arts classes. My GPA, after 6 classes (19 credits) is a 3.889. In addition, I am Class Representative on the Undergraduate Student Government, President/Founder of a Club, member of the Finance and Economics Society, and completed leadership training to become a Peer Mentor. Furthermore, I work 15 hrs a week at a health club.

I applied last year to NYU CAS, but was rejected. I graduated from a performing arts high school (where I balanced academics with and music classes) with a 93 average. I took 4 APs and a college course for which I recieved an A. I was part of the National Honor Society, recieved an award for Academic Excellence and Community Leadership, editor for the school's magazine, debate club, and I was a violinist for the school orchestra which won 2 NYSSMA Gold Awards. In high school, I did not work, but completed 300 hours of community service (2 years). I got a 25 for my ACT and 600 for SAT II Math Level I.

My essay talks about my interest in media communication. I also included how my parents and I were Jews who fled Central Asia because of civil war and related that to why I am interested in the subject. For the famous New Yorker, I chose Michael Jordan because I love basketball, and my poem had some good metaphors.

I am applying to the Media, Culture, and Communication program at NYU. Do I stand a chance?
