SCHOOLS: St Johns university, Syracuse (HEOP),Buffalo(EOP), manhattan college, Albany (eop). Thank you!!! :)

Anyone ???

Any idea what your SAT or ACT will be around?

You have a good chance Albany and maybe Manhattan; I don’t know much about the HEOP or EOP at Syracuse or Buffalo, but you might have a good shot at Buffalo, and St John’s is a reach- good luck!

1120 out of 1600 maybe a bit more

I thought st johns would be easier for me. I spoke to an admissions person and he said to get in to the liberal arts you would need at least a 75 average and a 400 on both math and reading.

Well, that doesn’t necessarily mean everyone with those scores are getting in- it likely just means that anything below that really need not bother applying. I mean, according to collegeboard, about half the accepted students had a better gpa than you, and the average SAT is in the mid 500s. It obviously doesn’t mean you have no chance, just that you should have some other options. That’s all :). My friend got in with a $17k scholarship and her gpa was “only” 91, although she did have a really high ACT.

Well according to college board, people with a 2.5 average. Has a better percentage than 3.0 and I fall in the 3.0 categorie. The highest percentage accepted at st johns is a 2.5 to 2.9

Okay, I mean the fact of the matter is that you’re squarely in the middle so it’s definitely not a safety. You do have a decent chance, sorry if I sounded overly critical, it’s just that you shouldn’t count on it, or get overly confident, because it could go either way, unlike a safety. Definitely wishing you best of luck :D.

Your in to st johns trust me;

A lot of these people here are saying things with out actually knowing these schools & I live in queens and I know many people who have got in with way lower stats

It should be your safety

Can you afford St. John’s or Syracuse? That, I think is a more important question to ask. Academically I think you should apply to all of them. But you need to find out what your family can afford to pay. Neither St. John’s or Syracuse give a lot of aid.

I don’t agree that St. John’s is a reach. I went to St. John’s for grad school (just graduated last year in fact - funny going to college at the same time as some of my kids :slight_smile: ). I think you certainly have a good shot at it.

Thanks… Most of the high average students go to the pharmacy program. For syracuse, I’m going to apply through the HEOP program which will help me financially and it would make it easier for me to attend. Almost all the private schools in NY has an HEOP program.

Okay… I’m assuming you’re talking about me considering I’m the only other person other than AlexGenao. I live in NY as well, MANY of my friends have either applied or are going to St. John’s, including my prom date who is going and all six members of his family have gone. Clearly I was coming across as overly pessimistic. I NEVER said you had no shot of getting in, but it’d be stupid to make it your safety, so please have some other options, which it looks like you do, so problem solved.

In which program did your prom date got into at St John’s??

Lol you are 99% sure in at St. Johns…

Thanks dude I really appreciated.

Anyone else ???
