Reinstated the Muslim Student Association

Serving as representative to Southern California MSA High School for my Junior Year
The club has around 15 members because were a minority in the school population

Member of Tree Huggers Club, California Scholarship Federation, Muslim Student Association, and Health Science Academy.

I did Track and Field starting my Sophomore Year, starting in Frosh-Soph, and made Varsity my Junior Year while getting a Varsity Letter and became a Sierra League Finalist. I do High Jump, my highest is 5 feet and 7 inches.

I'm party of the Health Science Academy which prepares me for a health career. I'm CPR certified.

For Award, I received the Scholar Athlete Patch in which student participating in Varsity Sport has a 4.0 GPA.
I received the Top Dog Award, a medal given to the top 10 students in academics and extracurriculars.

I also work part time job at Kumon Tutoring Center as a Math Tutor.

I'm currently rank 10th out my class of 700.

SAT Score is 2102
SAT Subject Mathematics II is 782
SAT Subject Biology Molecular is 800

I'm plan on applying for an internship at NASA this summer.

I'm Poly-Lingual. I speak Arabic, Urdu, English, and Spanish (it might qualify).

I know this sounds stupid, but does my ethnicity matter? I'm from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

I'm plan on majoring in Political Science, Biology, or Nuclear Physics.

I understand there are people better than me, but I just want an honest opinion if I have what it takes to be a competitive applicant in the Yale Application Pool.

2102? Do you mean 2120 (SAT score)?

You are competitive enough for just about any school in the country, including Yale. Whether you are admitted is an entirely different story.

Yeh, thx.

I understand Yale take people who do their best in certain areas. Mine would be athletics and science, but I really don’t know if they’re are the best areas against other applicants.

You don’t know the stats of everyone who will apply to Yale this fall. All you can do is continue to excel in your fields. :-)

782 in Math?

Yale is a crapshoot. It is very unpredictable at 7% admit rate.

People are usually recruited for athletics and not necessarily taken because of an EC. So you might want to contact the track coach.

=) Thx for the advice

taxaspg, this may sound skeptical, but I’m plan on working out during part of my summer in the gym in order to increase my vertical leap. I plan on using that vertical leap to break the high jump school record to 6’7 during track season in Spring. This is all risky speculation, but I plan on talking to the track coach after my season has ended, and I won state. Afterwards, I plan on talking to the track and field coach for Yale. I notice they don’t have any High Jumpers on their track team. LOL Once against ignorant and risky speculation, but a guy has to dream and try.

The coaches start filling their classes starting this summer. They give you a likely letter if they decide to take you. So if you wait until spring, the admit season is already over.

So I guess I should talk to him during the season.
