Chance UChicago EA?

OK, here we go...

UW GPA: 3.76
W GPA: 4.63 (it's quirky how my school does it)
BUT I'll have taken 12 APs by the end of senior year (1 Sophomore, 5 Junior, 6 Senior), which will be near the record (if not the record) of # of APs taken during one's high school career at my school, so the rigor of course load is definitely there...
I'm at a normal high school from the Northeast and I'm definitely top 5% of my class.
My rigor is definitely one of the top 3 in my grade, it could possibly be the most rigorous in my class of 483.
I changed schools after freshman year because of bullying, and I'm much happier where I am now, but the difference in GPA calculation makes it a little quirky to calculate.

Senior Year Classes: AP Gov, AP Euro, AP Spanish Lang, AP Microeconomics, AP English Lit, Honors Multivariable Calc (maxed out of BC Calc as a Junior), Honors Physics (scheduling issues prevented me from taking AP Physics), Independent Study in AP Comp Gov sponsored by my school

Scores:
34 ACT Composite
11 Writing
SAT II: Math Level 1- 750, Math Level 2- 780, Chemistry- 730
PSAT: 214 (probably going to become National Merit Commended)
AP: 4 on World History, 5 Chemistry, 5 BC Calc, 4 Psych, 4 US, 4 English (AP Scholar with Distinction)

Extracurriculars:

Member of State Student Advisory Council on Education
Captain of Debate Team
1st Place National Circuit LD Speaker
3rd Place State Champion
Captain of Mock Trial Team
School Newspaper Section Editor
Community Service/Outreach through Temple Youth Group
NHS, Spanish NHS, all of the blah "honor" stuff

Essays should be well-written, hoping for superb

Please chance for UChicago EA, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Tufts, Georgetown, as well as UVA, UMichigan, and UC Berkeley... also, if any of these schools are more likely to admit me early, please say so.

Unbelieveable… not a single hit yet? BUMP.

As an applicant, you are shockingly similar to me. This is quite odd.

Anyhow, you have one weakness, and that is your unweighted GPA. However, since you make the top 5% of your class, it is excusable. I’d say it is a reach (as for everyone sans hook), but you could get in. I wouldn’t say that your chances are better than the admit rate, but they certainly aren’t worse!

bump10char…

UChicago EA: mid reach
Harvard: high reach
Yale: high reach
Cornell: low reach
JHU: low reach
Northwestern: low reach
Tufts: low reach
Georgetown: low reach
UVA: high match
UMich: mid match
Berkeley: low reach

Good luck! :)

bump10char

Very good chances at UVA, Michigan, Tufts and UCB
