Chance UCLA Class of 2018 Applicant

Hi, I was wondering if somebody could please chance me as an prospective applicant for UCLA next year! Below are my stats:

*] SAT I (breakdown):2150
[ *] ACT:32
[ *] SAT II:U.S. History: 720
[ *] Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0):3.79
[ *] weighted gpa: 4.33, I took couple community college courses included in that G.P.A calculation
[ *] ELC?: YES
[ *] AP (place score in parenthesis): Projected Scores: APUSH (5) AP CALC AB(5) AP LANG(5) AP EURO(5) AP PHYSICS B (5) AP SPANISH (5) AP BIO (5) APES(5)
[ *] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):Varsity track, cross country
[ *] Job/Work Experience: free tutoring to kids in my community
[ *] Volunteer/Community service: hospital volunteering, medical internships, religious youth group involvement
[ *] Intended Major: History
[ *] State (if domestic applicant): CA
[ *] School Type:Top public school in california
[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): First generation college student, dealt with/survived cancer sophomore year. This lead to me recieving one C in pre-calculus first semester only...bumped it to a B second semester. Junior year I got a C in first semester of A.P. Calc A.B, but will get a B second semester for the class.

bump…

you have a very good chance of acceptance imo

I think you have a great chance as well! I got in with a 2000 SAT and 3.96 unweighted GPA so you should be good, especially since you have a reason for your lower GPA. If you write a great essay about your challenges, I think you have a good shot. Good luck.

I know someone with similar stats who got in. Just be sure to write good essays and you’ll be set :)

Does it make a difference when you send in your application? Earlier or later in the window of time?

Sending your app earlier or later? Does it make a difference?

The time that you submit your application has no impact on admissions.

i’m 99% sure you’ll get in

It sounds pretty likely! Just a side note- free tutoring is technically volunteer service.

does out of state help? im from the south

Yes, out of state does help. UCLA’s acceptance rate is roughly double for OOS students–32% vs 17%

With those scores, you definitely have a great chance! :)

You should have a good chance!
