Chance UPenn ED?

I'm considering applying ED to UPenn, but first I want to know if I have a shot? If not, maybe you could name a few schools that are better matches.

One more thing: If you know me, you can probably identify me from this. I don’t really mind. In fact, PM me if you do.

Basics:
White
Female
Rising Senior
I attend a competitive prep school in Texas.
*Upenn Legacy – my grandfather and great grandfather both attended.

Testing & Grades:

[]SAT I: 1460/2260 (680 CR, 780 M, 800 W) May 2010, retaking in November (shooting for 700+ on CR)
[]ACT: not taking
[]SAT II: Math II (790) , French (730), Chemistry (710)
[]APs: French language (3), US History (4), Chemistry (5), English Language (5)
[]GPA: 3.79 currently, plan on raising during 1st semester senior year
[]Rank: n/a (school doesn’t rank)
[li]Senior coarse load: AP Economics, AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, French Literature, English semester courses[/li][/ul]

**ECs:/b
[ul]
[]Athletic Trainer (10, 11, 12)- I suck at sports, so I’m an athletic trainer instead. Basically same hours as sports practices (every weekday 4-6). I get ice, wrap ankles, etc. and it’s considered a varsity sport. (On a side note, I’m actually considering doing crew during senior year instead because I discovered that I’m not too shabby at it.)
[]Volunteer at county hospital (summer 2009, summer 2010)- Got 210 hours last year, will get less this year but still >100.
[]Photography – (10, 11, 12) Take photography elective at my school.
[]Co-president of a club at my school and that makes crafts and donates them to local children’s hospital.
[]Pre-Med Club (9, 10, 11) – Member.
[]School’s French Honor Society (9, 10, 11) – Member.
[]Attended a full immersion french school in France for one week (summer 2008)
[]Day camp couselor during summer 2007 (when I was a rising freshman) working with kids in the art room making arts and crafts
[/ul]

Awards and recognition:
[ul]
[]High honor roll (9, 10, 11) and presumably 12th as well
[]Awarded for my junior research paper – 6 students, including myself, out of over 120 in my grade were awarded for having written exemplary research papers
[]Most Improved Trainer (10) – see ECs
[]Was a finalist in a local photography competition
[li]Placed in Le Grand Concours national French contest (10, 11) unfortunately, however, I’ve managed to forget what place I came in both years. But, to be completely honest, this exam is kind of BS…they tell you that you got 2nd place in your region, for example, but in reality several people got “2nd place”[/li][/ul]

That’s just about it. Thank you in advance!

You are right that your ECs are kind of weak. Try to get some leadership positions or something significant. Being a member of a club means next to nothing

I think you still have a decent shot of getting into UPenn ED. I mean, your SATs and subject tests are fairly strong and your senior course load is good. I guess whether you get in also depends on the school you’re applying to-Wharton is probably a reach but you have a good chance of getting in CAS.

If you plan to apply ED to UPenn, your first semester senior grades will not factor into your GPA, which is a little low.

@ GoldOwl - Thank you, I completely forgot to mention that I would be applying to CAS.

Yea, you got a great shot early admission. Hopefully you get in.

you’re extracurriculars are not that weak. The good part is that you have been doing them for 3 + years.
