As good chance as any… Which is low

Contact swimming coaches, get recruited. Easiest way.

No gaps but also no hooks. Your essays and interviews will matter. Why should they admit you and not other similarly qualified applicants?

@Yappoy

The schools you apply to should have an equal amount where Asian males are underrepresented rather than saturated.

You should also assume that your chances are lower than average, which they may be.

You should fill out the swimming recruiting questionnaires and expand your list to NESCAC and Patriot League schools and the top Catholic schools. In virtually all these schools Asians are underrepresented. Vanderbilt is a good addition, relatively small Asian population.

Keep your original list but keep in mind you are swimming upstream, with the exception of Dartmouth.

How did you come to decide on these schools?

I would make inquiries (if you have the inclination to swim in college) on being a recruited athlete–it would certainly distinguish you, and moreover create a hook, from the already crowded field of other Asian male applicants. That said, here are my thoughts: Penn n Dartmouth IN; UofC and waitlist; and, Y and P rejected.

Very strong candidate, but has been said, if you get recruited to swim, it’s a slam dunk. The Ivy League school are Division I, but U Chicago is Division III. Only you know what is reasonable there.

I like the lowkey racist sentiments in the posts of @BatesParents2019 and @boolaHI. Must be unfortunate to be “saturated.”

But real talk: U Penn isn’t the school for you. I’d say it’s a faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar reach

You are an excellent student! By now, you should have heard from most of these schools. I am sure you had some amazing acceptances. Best of luck!
