Chance with low gpa?

What are the chances of me getting accepted as a transfer student to Brandeis or Boston University with a 3.3 Gpa from a community college with 45 credits?

Hi, I am also applying to Brandeis from a community college. Are you applying for winter 2017?

I’m applying for the spring 2017 semester

Me too! What’s your major? How are you feeling about Brandeis?

On their website it says a 3.3 Gpa is competitive and that’s where you are at!

Brandeis is my dream school; I’m excited to apply! I’m majoring in psychology and applying with a fee waiver so I don’t have anything to lose If I don’t get accepted.

Brandeis is also one of my top choices. Through researching them I have become so excited about the prospect of attending. I’m majoring in polysci. I’m also applying with a fee waiver. What’s your course load like at CC? Is it rigorous? How were your hs stats?

It’s very exciting to be able to speak with someone is also applying to Brandeis!

Every semester I’ve done 15-18 credits but this semester I had some difficulties so I only did 4 classes. I’m applying with 45 credits (some of those are Clep). To be honest, they aren’t really rigorous :frowning:

Did you apply to Brandeis before? Why apply now?

I have never applied to Brandeis. I just decided to apply now since I’m also applying to other universities as a transfer student.

@AvPsychologyGirl hi! Did you apply
To Brandeis?

I have sent in my application but its still listed as incomplete since they still haven’t received my college transcript or transfer college report. Im really starting to worry since its almost the deadline for credentials on November 1st.

@AvPsychologyGirl have you sent them?

yes i sent them a while ago and theres not going to be enough time for me to resend them so I just have to wait and see.

@AvPsychologyGirl oh okay. What do you think your chances are?

70/30 chance. Most likely denied but Im still waiting to hear back.

I got a letter from them today in regards to financial aid. They will cover everything, but they are need-aware so I think I’ll get denied. @AvPsychologyGirl

So they’re most likely to accept students who can afford it? I just read on their website that says “Please keep in mind that the transfer admissions process at Brandeis is need-aware, meaning that a student’s ability to pay is one of the many factors considered in an admissions decision.” [-O<

@AvPsychologyGirl yes! If you require a lot of aid it is very likely you will not be accepted unless you are an incredible student that they must have. The less aid you require the lower your grades and app can be.
