I cannot decide of i should apply to northeastern university or not, I have my list and am trying to decide between the last 2 or 3 schools to apply to. I love Boston and really want to attend school in a big city. I love the fact that the school has a campus-y feel but is still in the city ( from what ive read? anyone want to elaborate). But as everyone knows applications are expensive and i don't want to pay if my chances are very slim because of my test scores.

Test scores- ACT- 21 ( horrible i know, i don't know why i did so badly :( taken twice and got a 21 twice

What would you say my chances to Northeastern University. I don;t know what the average test scores are for NU? It wasn't on college board.

Also can anyone tell me any more information about Northeastern? Dorms, school pride/involvement? classes? class size? is it a commuter school? any information at all?

Thanks for the hahalolk, and thanks for being honest. I know my chances are limited because of my test scores, which sucks because besides those i feel like i am a strong applicant. I am taking the SAT in January so hopefully i have more success with that. Thanks again.

Good luck on the SAT’s, if you can get them between the 1800-2000 range I think you’ll be a worthy applicant for NU.

To elaborate on the campus:
It’s definitely the most interesting campus I have been to in a city. That’s not a bad thing, either. Much of the campus is enclosed by the dorms, lecture halls, and other academic buildings, so you feel very exclusive in the big city. It’s not as far to say that you forget you’re in the city, because you don’t. The city feels like it’s bustling around you, which is great! Conclusion: There is something there for everyone.

Lots of threads here answer most of your questions about the school, so hunt around. Also look on students review.com, whose web address for some reason won’t paste here.

Northeastern is harder to get into than UW, and your ACT score is too low for UW. Do everything you can now to study for the SAT. Get an SAT workbook at Barnes and Noble so you know how the test is structured and spend time over Christmas break to do the work in that workbook.

The rest of your record looks okay. Good luck!
