Thanks!

The fact that you’re from Ghana is a really good hook that’ll help

Ivies are reaches for everyone, but it is definitely worth for you to give shots

Amherst, Carleton, Dartmouth, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Middlebury, Rice, Pomona,University of Chicago, Brown: You do have a chance on all of them, and your odds are good enough if you don’t apply for FA(your place of origin can be a hook as the diversity factor). However, you can be rejected by half(or even all, but that’s remote) of them, since all these schools are just unpredictable in selecting candidates.
Colby, Colgate, Vanderbilt, Vassar: Most likely to get in if you don’t apply for FA, but if you do, odds will be another issue.

small correction to bbff1234’s post: Vassar is completely need blind, so FA or no FA won’t make a difference.

it is need aware for int kids

thanks guys, I’m actually looking for FA. and @adondecollege , it would be better if you make your own thread; I’ll do well to chance you there :)

@seanninsing sorry, new to this! New thread has been made.

don’t worry about it! :D

@seanninsing If you are applying for FA as an international candidate, no one can make any predictions of your application outcome. I was also in your dilemma a year ago when I was aiming for the schools in the states as a Chinese applicant( diversity factor didn’t count for me). In general, when you apply for FA, all the schools are reaches to you regardless of their rankings and your personal attributes(even an IMO award does not necessariliy mean that you will get in; it only means that you have relatively stronger chances). Be prepared to apply for some safeties at home and in the States(say some regional schools). Good luck to you.
