Intended Major: Comp Sci and minor in management

Most likely no. Why capitalize “no financial aid needed”. UCSD doesnt base decisions on that.

It’s just the generic post I use for all my “chance me” threads. Thanks for the prompt response.

Unfortunately I’d say no either. Both your GPA and SAT are below the medians of accepted students of past years (especially the GPA). And coming from OOS doesn’t help matters much either.

does having a sub SAT’s [both SAT I and II’s] hurt you if you make up for it in ELC, GPA, and leadership/EC’s?

my SAT is 1860, while SAT II’s are 650/620…
but my GPA [UC] is 4.25

but to the OP, i would also say no, but if you can boost your SAT to about 2100 + [or at least 2050] you should have a good chance

i dont get why you guys are saying he most likely wont get in. i think he has a great chance of getting in becuase my stats were worse than his and i got in :)

I’m assuming you were in-state? Admission requirements/point cut-offs are typically much higher for OOS applicants.

yea i was in state. but you never know the results are random as heck. i didnt expect to get into SD

stats, prionviroid?

Yeah – they’re not random. UCSD goes by point system and admission is fairly predictable given one’s stats.

replying to whoever wanted my stats: i had a 3.0 gpa and 1800 sat, no EC, and i BS’ed my essay lol

@spatel23, yea if ur essays are bombass and ur EC’s are really good (like if u have lots of leadership) id say ur in. my SAT was under 1900, SAT2’s were both under 700, and GPA was 4.03 weighted and i got in.

@OP: id say a fair chance, try to get ur SAT above 2k if u want a better chance. btw u dont need letters of rec for the UC’s, only privates

when I log onto the application status site, I still get this

Welcome to the UC San Diego application status site. We are currently reviewing applications for freshman admission for the Fall 2011 quarter.

Decisions for freshman applicants will be posted mid-to late March 2011. Please check back later in the spring for updates regarding the status of your application.

i had a funny dream today… i dreamed of getting admitted into UCSD… the same dream that happens the day before SAT scores are out… lol

@diablonecros… i have great EC’s but two leaderships [one I’m Pres. the other I’m Head Chef!]… but my other EC’s are pretty awesome.

we are all going to have funny dreams for another 2 weeks, then we will have to face the cruel reality

Anyone else receiving weekly emails from Jacob’s school of Engineering? Not sure what they mean but it makes the wait even harder

My D has not gotten any emails. She applied BME. We are out of state

oh my Lord, that wait is so hard …

plagmah

I also applied BME. What are your D stats?
