Currently a junior, will be graduating in 2012.

SAT: 2220
CR: 730
M: 690
W: 800

Courses:
I don't feel like listing allll my courses but by the time I graduate I will have taken 9 honors classes and 8 AP classes.
Four years of spanish and math, 3 years of science, the equivalent of like 7 years of social studies (took multiple social studies classes in 1 year), 2 years of fine arts, equivalent of 5 English classes. Some classic electives, like cooking.

EC's:
President of Reach 2 Women, a community service club helping women in my community
Habitat for Humanity.. self explanatory
NHS
Spanish Honor Society
I work as a waitress in a restaurant 20-30 hours a week

Other:
New Jersey Scholars Program semifinalist
Female, white, big public school in central Jersey, sends a lot of students to top schools, upper-middle class.

I will be applying ED to Columbian and I plan on majoring in English or history. Or both.
I've been in contact with the admissions guy who handles applications that come from my area and I plan on interviewing. I've visited once and am going back down to DC next week cause I want to see a dorm, didn't see one last time.

I'm basically obsessed with this school, it's literally perfect for me. It has everything I have ever wanted in a school; the English and history programs, the city, the opportunities, the museums, the Folger Library, the capitol/White House/Library of Congress, the style of the campus is perfect. It's the best.

Anyway that's me/my stats/etc in a nutshell.
Thanks in advance!

you should be fine; i’d even take a shot at the honors program (if the curriculum is something that interests you).

If you apply ED, I am sure you’ll get in. YOu will love it here.

And don’t forget that the essay is WHY GW, not WHY DC. Don’t write a Why DC essay and you should be golden  Good luck! :D

like somebody said, if you apply ED, you’ll get in.

if you apply RD though make sure you try to get in touch with your regional director of admissions, try to visit, or at least interview. if you don’t show interest, you’ll get rejected. bottom line.

OK - here’s the scoop.

Did I miss a GPA anywhere here in your stats?? I am Assuming a very good GPA (Top 10% of your class) and high class rank.

Any scores on the AP classes?

The above are major selection criteria in addition to your excellent SAT’s!

CJ

Whoops, I was actually thinking about my GPA as I was writing the post… can’t believe I forgot to give it.

GPA weighted: 4.35ish? I’m actually not sure. For freshman/sophomore year my GPA is a 4.19 but my grades this year are significantly better so we’ll see what happens
unweighted should be about a 3.8 or so

My school doesn’t rank, but if I had to guess, I would say I’m definitely in the top 15-20%, not sure about top 10%.

Hope this helps. I will be applying ED, have visted once, am visiting again, plan on interviewing, and have been in touch with the admissions guy for my area a few times.
I wish I could just apply now!!! I love this school.
