HOOKS:

I am of Hispanic descent.

I will not be applying for financial aid.

I think you stand a small chance, I wouldnt give up hope. You would probably be in the lower percentile, but maybe your “hooks” will let you in

Cal Poly admissions is entirely numbers-driven, with the most important numbers being GPA and SAT/ACT scores. Your “hooks” won’t be considered, nor will letters of recommendation or ECs, with the exception the total number of hours of ECs (and hours worked if any). Only the CR and math scores on your SAT will be considered. You might have a better chance if you can retake the ACT to improve your score. Also make sure that you have all of the CSU required coursework covered:

[Freshman Selection - College of Engineering -Admissions- Cal Poly](<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions)

I think your chances are on the low side, to be honest. CS is very competitive for admissions at Cal Poly, as are all engineering majors. Why do you want to go out of state?

UCONN CS is nearly as known as any school I am applying to and money is no issue.
