HOOKS:

I am of Hispanic descent.

I will not be applying for financial aid (?).

Apply in Sept-Oct and you will get in for sure!

Does PSU have a rolling admissions policy?

Yup! I applied like late November and didn’t hear back until the first week of February.

its not really “rolling”-- the first wave of acceptances usually comes out in early November, but most people don’t usually hear until the end of January. It is very important to apply early, September is ideal.

My only issue is that PSU only considers the highest SAT score from a single date. For me, my two scores are:

March 2011: 1890
CR: 610
Math: 600 [absolute *****]
Writing: 680

May 2011: 1880
CR: 590
Math: 680
Writing: 610

Will that 600 in Math from my highest test date hurt my chances (especially for college of engineering)? Will they even look at the other score?

Propane- I believe you can use score choice to send only the May 2011 SAT score

I think that would be the best idea. The 680 Math is ~75th percentile, the 590 CR is ~55th percentile and the 610 writing is ~62nd percentile. That seems good enough.

I believe the admissions said today at “Spend a Summer Day” that they want to see all your scores and not to utilize score choice. May want to call and verify.

I will, thank you.
