Chance? :)

I just applied for Fall 2012 and wanted to know your take on my chances of acceptance. I am currently a high school senior. I know my chances may be somewhat low, but I have extracurriculars that I think back me up (Children's Congress, officer positions in clubs, 102 community service hours). And I'm instate. Let me know what you think!

Unweighted: 3.31
Weighted: 3.69
SAT (CR+M): 1270
ACT: 28 (retaking in October)

I am also taking 2 APs and 4 Honors classes right now (5 honors next semester), and have all As and one B in my AP Lit class. If I keep up those grades, will that boost my chances?

THANKS!

12 and 16 I dont want to say no. Because anything is possible. But your GPA is on the low side. and your SAT is as well.

Lets see what every else suggests. I would advice you to apply for summer B admissions.

i would think of UF as a reach school. that doesn’t mean you cant get in, or that you probably wont get in, but hold off on the orange and blue snuggie. your strength of schedule could be what tips you over, or your EC’s, but those are all very subjective.

His SAT is actually slightly above average for UF admits(He has a 635 average in CR and Math). But your weighted GPA is low.

I got a 670 on Reading and 600 on Math. 740 on Writing if that helps.

the class of 2015 had a weighted GPA of 4.2

So it looks like a no go there

Yeah, I know that my GPA is low. Will they consider 1st semester senior year grades in the recalculated GPA?

you’re welcome to send in your transcript after december and request that they take it into consideration. if they don’t accept you, you can appeal, and i think they would take it into consideration.

other than the academic stuff you should try to write a good essay for the application. I heard they look at that a lot too.
