I understand Tulane is a reach but should I still apply?

IvyLeague324: Admission to Tulane is holistic in nature as they take into account your essay (why you have chosen Tulane), your interest in pursuing a degree in Tulane, etc. Since the application fee is still free, I would say give it a try. Other than that, perhaps some other guys in here can give you some advise. More importantly, school of business in Tulane is also pretty good and has some very good reputation. Good luck and may the Force be with you.

you have great extracurriculars and a great gpa! you should apply! like okla said they look at your application holistically. even if you feel like your scores are low (i’m assuming that’s why you think tulane is a reach, since your application sounds strong everywhere else) they are still not bad. obviously no one knows what they will decide but it’s definitely worth a shot.

apply early action and go to all the tulane events offered in your area. from what i’ve read on these boards it sounds like the more serious you are about tulane the more likely you will be to get an acceptance.

Thanks for the tip about the mailing list! Should I also take this as a chance to email my regional admissions counsler to ask her about any local events that may be coming up?

Yes, Tulane is a reach, but you have a good shot. Express your interest for Tulane and be sure to write the ‘Why Tulane’ essay. The optional essays are crucial , so do them! I urge you to apply EA, or even SCEA, just to show even more interest. Good luck!
