<p>Hi! So I already applied ED but in my never-ending nervousness and stress, I wanted to finally do this. Thanks!!!</p>

<p>[ *] College: Natural Sciences
[ *] SAT: 790 Math, 780 Writing, 750 Reading (2320 total, 2nd time taken); 740 for each category (2220, first time taken)
[ *] SAT IIs (if sent): 750 US History, 760? Mol Bio (Might have been 780, don't remember off the top of my head)
[ *] Unweighted GPA: 3.78
[ *] Weighted GPA: 4.42
[ *] Class Rank: Definitely in top 20% but at a very competitive school and I'm not exactly sure
[ *] Other stats: AP Scores: all 5s on APUSH, AP Gov, AP Psych, AP Lang, and AP Bio. All of my classes are AP this year and so I'm also planning on taking chem, environmental, lit, world, and AB calc
[ *] Subjective (ECs, special circumstances, etc):
Had mono second semester junior year
Intern @ National institutes of health for going on two years every day after school-doing cancer research there, just submitted Intel project on prostate cancer (11, 12)
Participation in and now organizing weekly extracurricular biology class (10, 11, 12)
Inclusion facilitating at local theater (helping integrate kids with disabilities into arts classrooms with children without disabilities) (10, 11)
Acting conservatory at that theater (9)
Dance (9, 10)
Arts Camp (9, 10)
Babysitting on a regular basis (9, 10)
School Choir (9, 10,11)
Volunteering w/ tahirih justice center (organization helping women and girls fleeing gender based violence in their home countries seek political asylum in the US) (9, 10, 11)

[ *] Essays: I think they're pretty good. I talk about my internship and why I love science, my experience inclusion facilitating, a very heartfelt essay about why I feel I truly belong at Rice, and about a trip to India and the interaction I had with the local culture there (sounds pretentious here but it was actually an essay that I'm very proud of). My box submission is part pun, part biology. They're definitely very me. After I submitted, I realized I had a typo in one of them though and that worries me.
[ *] Teacher Recs: Anatomy and physiology/freshmen bio/internship organizer teacher-should be very, very good. She loves me and has had me for four years. We're very close and I know that she thinks very highly of me. AP bio teacher-should be pretty good though not as strong as it could be. Also an additional rec from my internship mentor, which should be amazing.
[ *] Counselor Rec: I think this will be very strong, my counselor knows me very well.
[ *] Hook (legacy, recruited athlete, etc.): Good family friend knows president
[ *] State or Country: Montgomery county, Maryland (just outside DC)

[ *] major strength/weakness: Strengths: personality, most recs, research experience SAT scores; Weaknesses: that typo, GPA
[ *] Other Factors/questions: I also interviewed and I think it went pretty well. My schedule this year is AP Environmental, AP Lit, AP Chem, AP World, AP Calc AB, and internship. </p>

<p>Your information definitely put you in their range. However, admissions of top universities are usually very subjective and it’s quite difficult to predict exactly whether you will get in. I will say that you have a great chance, but no one can guarantee.</p>

<p>A typo in your essay won’t destroy your application, as long as there is no distracting error. They care more about your ideas and what is central to you.</p>

<p>Thank you! I also should mention that I’ve expressed a ton of interest in the school. I’ve talked to and emailed admissions officers, been to their session at my high school, visited twice (info session and tour first time, over night second), talked to a lot of alumni and students, and like I said, interviewed </p>

<p>As Yhz said, your stats are very good and put you in range to get in. Now that you have applied, just hope for the best.</p>
