LEGACY <----------------- and resident

Predicted SAT:
600 verbal
600 writing
650 math

GREAT EC's: eagle scout, cap, NHS, SAR, 2 varsity letters.

Chance?

What do you mean predicted SAT? If you are going into your senior year then you must have taken some standardized testing already. If you are only going into your junior year then it is too early for anyone to give you chances on admission...junior year could make or break you. A 1250 SAT (CR + M) will give you a chance, esp. if you apply early and for summer B. UF is still a low reach for you though.

It seems like a lot will be applying early and for summer B, it might lose that advantage.

dude I think Im a match with my stats. Im a legacy and a resident plus my weighted gpa is pretty good a TREMENDOUS EC's (didnt type them all) and will have great recs and those will prbably be my predicted SAT (because I take practice tests and get that score)

Sorry Futurepilot, you can run but you can not hide. Other CC guests might want to view the Air Force Academy pages, Futurepilot has been very rude.

FutureUSAFAPilot, my son has just started UF as a freshman Summer B student. You should know what the dean told us at his Preview (orientation) session in May: Every student in this freshman class had at least a 4.0 GPA in high school. And the lowest SAT score was 1275. Every one of them had fabulous ECs and recommendations, or they wouldn't have gotten in.

I'm telling you this so you might consider tempering your responses to people on this board so they will want to help you and answer your questions. I know you didn't like the answers you got, but it really is surprising that you have only taken practice SAT's at this point. My son and all his friends took their SAT's twice at the end of junior year. The only people who had to take SAT's in senior year were the ones who needed to raise their scores.

At Preview, the dean also asked the UF graduates in the audience to raise their hands. About 30 parents raised their hands (out of about 300). So you see, being a 'legacy' doesn't mean much if you don't have the minimal scores and GPA. Maybe you can take one of the SAT Prep courses this summer, to try and raise your scores. It's too late to improve your GPA, but if you can bring your SAT scores up, you might have a chance of getting accepted.
Good luck to you.

with your additude futureusafapilot you will not get in anywhere

In-state with those stats? I wouldn't think it'd be a problem. Get the SATs you predicted and I'd say you're a good shot. I've heard of people with much lower stats getting into Fall. Good luck!

Hardly a "shoo in". First off, legacy at UF means nothing. It's such a large school and they have such a large volume of applications that if you don't meet their GPA and SAT requirements, that's as much as they're going to look at your application. There were several people who were in at least a couple of my AP classes this year who were rejected from UF and it keeps getting harder every year as they strive to become a top 10 public university.
