..... I know that my test scores are not INCREDIBLE, but I know that my ec's are very strong because that is basically my life, and I love it that way. Please chance me for ED at Columbia or ED at Wharton.

Hmm, what does student of color mean? Theoretically speaking, that just means you're not caucasian. While being African-American or Hispanic would be an advantage in admissions, being East Asian or Indian would be a disadvantage. In admissions, Arabs are actually counted as whites.

Anyway, your academics seem fine. Are you planning to take more AP's in the future? If your school is offering more than the 2 AP's you're taking, you should make an effort to take some of them. Your 2200 SAT should be fine. No need to retake or even take the ACT, for that matter.

Your EC's sound pretty impressive. Regarding piano, it'd be best not to send in that DVD unless you're *REALLY good. Columbia doesn't seem to like when students ignore essay length limits, send in supplementary materials, etc.

I think you have a strong chance at Columbia ED as long as you write solid essays that demonstrate that you're a good match for the school. Out of interest, what will be your perspective major?

Yes to the AP question. I was a transfer this year so I just took the "easiest classes" to scope out the rigor of my new school. (not very rigorous btw). Next year, I am taking almost every AP available.

Regarding the DVD, I definitely want to send it in just to validate what I have been doing. Hopefully it won't come off as cocky, but I've been playing piano my whole life and I'd like them to hear it.

Lets see..... my major...... strangely, not music or anything to do with performance. I am definitely interested in economics, so I will probably look for something economically/politically oriented.
