Class of 2009
CA
GPA UW: 3.5855 :(
GPA W: 3.9

SAT Regular: 2230,
1520 M/V
SAT Superscore: 2280

SAT2: 750 Bio, 760 lit, 800 IIC math

EC: I have other stuff, but these are my main ones

VERY actively involved in national circuit LD debate Tourny Champion, debate captain

CEO and founder of a non-profit corporation to help teach disadvantaged kids of how to debate

Helps poor kids at a local elementary school academically (300 hrs)

I'd say you have a very good chance! Your debate and all your accomplishments including the huge non-profit corporation that you're the founder of definitely make you stand out and may weigh out your unweighted GPA. Your SATs are definitely more than fine for Emory.

However, how is the caliber of your courses? How many AP's and Honors do you take? Emory likes to see their applicants take the toughest course loads with tons of AP's and honors.

Your gpa is below average, your test scores are good, and yor ec's are great. As BruinsJEW mentioned above, your ec's might overshadow your gpa. I think you have great chances for Emory.

Good Luck!

I've been on all honors track since... 7th grade lol. Our school doesn't let us take AP classes until junior year, and I took 3 APs junior year, 2 weighted honors. Senior year I have 4 APs.
