chance?

<p>so here are my stats...already submitted but just want some input...</p>

<p>SAT: 800 CR 690 M 710 W (8 essay)
ACT: 33 comp 35 E 33M 33 S 30 R (8 essay...ehh..i hate timed writing)_
SAT II: 800 US Hist. 780 Latin 720 Math I 700 Chem
GPA: 4.08 W 3.7 UW (out of 4.0)
School Type: competitive New England private
Class Rank: 4/110
Major: Classics (next choice would be chemistry)
ECs: Yearbook (Editor), Latin Club (Founder and President), Tutor, Summer Research Internship at Boston Univ Chem Lab, Art Classes, Basketball (Community League)
Teacher Recs: Haven't seen them but my chem teacher told me about hers and it sounded good and my other was written by my latin teacher who has taught me all four years of high school, coached my bball team frosh year, advises latin club, and is my advisor (she's more like a friend than a teacher lol)
Essays: kind of hard to explain...im happy with them though
Hooks: I'm the first generation in my family born in america (if that counts for anything)..maybe my major?
Race: White--Eastern Europena
Other: I got into Georgetown (the college) EA if that adds anything</p>

<p>I think you definitely have a shot. Essays are probably the most important at this point because you have scores within the ranges Yale wants. Your ECs are good but seem a little unrelated so I think highlighting your passions/who you are as a person in the essays would help you the most.</p>

<p>Your EC's might seem random, but that's what makes you unique. I'd say you definitely have a great shot. Yale is looking for kids that stand out from others and I think your certainly do!</p>

I'm sure this question has been asked plenty of times, but essentially how much does being a first generation college student affect your chances of admission? It seems like a glance-over benefit if anything.</p>
