ok… first of all, i think your grades are good, but if you can pull the math and physics to an A/A-, it may look a little better.

After being through the admission process once, i now realize that it is not the number of extra-curricular activities you have, it is how involved you get in each. Therefore, whether it is forming a soccer website for your team, or creating a community service group at your school, etc, find one or two things that you really enjoy in your extracurricular activities and really specialize and get extremely involved.

sats were good, maybe try one more time (unless you got a 700 in each). you need an sat II in math and science by the way.

good luck with the process…i know i gave you a lot of advice, but you are in the position to really make your application stand out. You have the framework for a great application, and with some fine tuning, you can really stand out.

Thanks for your suggestion. I think I should focus on couple of things like soccer or piano. However, I did not have a chance to do so. But can focus on sports and music in general and do several things relating to these 2 areas ?

Any other comments ?

Do everything you can to raise your math and physics grades to an A-. Obviously, you are adjusting to a much higher level of difficulty at your new school. (BTW, how do you already have your AP score for calc?) When you are adjusting to a new level of difficulty, I wouldn’t have EC’s unless you need them to de-stress.

BTW, you need two SATII’s.

I took AP Cal AB last year and taking AP Cal BC this year.

I am gonna take Math II and Bio in June.

Will my case be different if I plan to major in Economics at MIT ?

Any more comments ?

MIT admits majour-blind, so no.

To be honest, it’s REALLY hard to predict whether or not a given applicant will get in. If your scores are really bad, you can probably predict being rejected, but as I have recently found out, there’s pretty much nothing that can guarantee acceptance. I’d say that if you want to go, have a stab at the app and hope for the best.

Don’t worry! I got in with Bs in math!! gasp! (However, perhaps this is indicative of imminent failure.)

and did u get in ?

Any more suggestion?

Yes, lol, i got in.
