Chance me. Please?

GPA would be helpful. With an improved SAT, I think you’re pretty much guaranteed a spot. Colleges love debate.

Without knowing your unweighed GPA, it is hard to estimate your chances. From what I see, your standardized scores (which luckily aren’t that important to Michigan) are not good but they aren’t bad either. Your ACT is more in line with Michigan’s averages, so you may want to focus more on that test. Try to raise it to a 31.

Your classes Junior and Senior year are challenging and that is very important to Michigan. You are also in-state, so that helps.

We really need to see your GPA before we can tell you your chances. From where I stand, I would say light reach, but if you have a 3.8+ unweighed GPA, I would change it to a match.

You have good ECs. GPA would be nice, better SAT would definitely help.
Why Math I? UM prefers Math II

Actually cdz, Michigan does not ask for SAT II and does not really consider them at all.

G.P.A.:
Unweighted: 3.88
Weighted:4.92

I’m taking more SAT II’s this fall. Math II will be one of them.

I left out for EC’s that:

Interned at a law firm for 2 trimesters (possibility of interning at another firm in the fall)
-worked mostly on med. mal cases, tested the waters with corporate and environmental
-got a better understanding of the community, and how the firm, along with other organizations/pro-bono lawyers fit into the picture.
-While interning at the firm, I was offered to other internships (1) being the second firm (2) LAC–Legal Assistance Center w/ Heartside Ministries.

Thank you for the replies!

Assuming you took a bunch of IB classes (not just a couple), you’re in. If you’re applying to out of state colleges though you may still want to get your test scores up (and even if you just want to go to Michigan just to make it more assured), but I think you’ll be fine.

Loooookin pretty sharp there =)

Just make sure you study hard for those standardized tests, you only have 1 more shot =D

Hah, I’m sure you’ll do fine!

^He can take them early on his senior year…

My bad Alexandre

But in reality, it’s always better to have them than don’t (that’s if they are good scores)

SAT II scores cannot hurt, obviously, but in general, unless one has several close-to-800 scores, Michigan will not weigh them heavily.
