It looks like you have a very good shot at a prestigious school, but make sure you have plenty of safeties because you never know what will happen.

Why would she need plenty of safeties? By definition, a safety school is a school she knows she’ll get into and be able to afford. She should only need one.

You are qualified but approximately 1 out of 4 applicants with SAT I over 2,300 are admitted. You want to make your application stand out. Consider submitting a Optional Arts Form if you have good material to submit. http://www.princeton.edu/admission/pdfs/OptionalArts09.pdf</a>

Recycling and composting while still important is so 1970’s. Renewable energy and conservation are more interesting areas today. Princeton is making efforts to reduce it’s impact on the environment.

Environmental features have been incorporated into the new chemistry building.

Watch the video of freshman Eden Full who has developed a method to improve the efficiency of solar panels.
Consider new areas of the environmental movement. Princeton is looking for students that are passionate about developing their ideas.

Good Luck!

@christiansoldier

I would have 2-3 safeties because of Tufts Syndrome.

I really hope that you get in, because my application looks really similar. You have a pretty decent chance.

You have an excellent chance but Princeton is never for sure for anybody.

I had a very similar profile to yours: lots of high-level creative writing awards and EC involvement, high SAT scores, and a less-than-4.0 GPA. I ended up getting to two of the HYP’s. One piece of advice: submit the Princeton Arts Supplement. Princeton is the one school I know of that actually sends creative writing samples to creative writing faculty, who then rate what you sent. So it’s pretty serious for them, and I definitely think it helped me.

What was your Freshman year GPA? Just out of curiosity.

Thank you for the links, PtonAlumnus! I focused on composting and recycling because my city is pretty slow on catching on to environmental conciousness. While I would have loved to work on renewable energy/conservation at my school, we had a very limited budget.

Matrix: Thanks; good to know!

MSauce: It was a 3.4… Haha. I’ve improved a lot. I suffered from depression that year.

Matrix: I looked at your profile. You had a 3.88 UW at a competitive school! I only have a 3.7 at a low-ranked public school :confused: I feel that’s a big difference.
