Hello all! I am new here and by the looks of it it seems you all have got a nice community here. I hope to enjoy taking part in it.

On to my question:

Coming from the largest high school in my area with 3,500 kids, I understand that I am not the ideal student. Boston University is in my interest because of the great ROTC program there. I'm hoping to apply for a ROTC scholarship and if possible attend BU. My previous SAT scores we're not the best, but I am studying my butt off to raise them this November. Going to school in Fairfax County has it's disadvantages. The grading scale that I am forced to put up with is much more demanding than others. (94-100 = A, 90-93 = B+, 84-89 = B, 80-83 = C+) Now, my GPA below is with that grading scale. If I were to change my grades that are borderline to a typical grading scale(90-100 = A), I would have a 3.6

GPA: 3.4 (3.6)
SAT I: 1570
Reading: 550
Writing: 520
Math: 500
Essay: 8

I am going into my Senior year and will be taking 2 AP's and have taken 2 years of honors classes.
AP Literature
AP Government

I was foolish in waiting as long as I did to take AP courses.

EC:

2 seasons Track and Field
2 seasons Cross Country
(Did not do indoor track because I run long distance)
President of a National Services club at my high school
180+ working as a volunteer counselor at a 6 week summer camp
Planning on getting a job this summer.

I realize that I don't quite stack up to most of you guys but I am just asking for an honest opinion. Be as nice or a cruel as you need to be.

Thankyou very much.
