Chanceee? :)

weighted gpa is 4.0213 (as of last week :), finally broke the 4.0)
unweighted isn’t on the transcript, but it’s around a 3.8 (could be wrong, i calculated it myself)
basically, AP’s are weighted by 1.0, honors from my junior year (but not other years) are weighted by .25

SAT’s-
composite 2150
one sitting 2140
1st time cr 610 math 640 writing 790
2nd time cr 640 math 720 writing 780
(may retake for the reading score)

SAT II’s (subject tests) -
chem 630
math 2 690
spanish 560
(will probably retake in the fall, but go off these for now)

prospective majors…
math, math & computer science, or computer systems engineering
(can someone explain how my chances would vary if i wanted to attend the college of engineering?)
or some sort of major/minor combination consisting of math and computers.
you get the point.

how much weight do you think they put on extracurriculars? because it is a major weak point for me.
i have a job i kept all junior year, although i had to leave for this summer due to family vacations, but they say they will re-hire me in the fall, and i intend to hold the job for the school year again.
it’s a basic retail job (marshalls) and i work anywhere from 12-29 or so hours a week, but they tend to give me either 16 or 22.
i’m also a member of the spanish national honors society, but i certainly don’t hold any leadership positions, as i can barely get myself to attend the meetings.

out of state, if that makes a different. white.

can someone explain what exactly my chances are? thank you so much!

also, if i were to apply to the college of engineering and was not accepted, does the college of the arts and sciences consider me or am i done?

Your subject tests are a bit weak, but I'm sure you'll be accepted. BU can't say no to a 2150.

I'm not sure if BU looks at writing scores of the SAT I yet. I know they didn't at one point and a lot of schools are waiting on it a few years for better data sampling. In which case, your SATs would be about average for the university. You will not be considered for CAS if you're not admitted to ENG. But you will be considered for SEP, which is the engineers version of CGS.

SEP will let you choose between going to CAS for computer science or ENG for computer systems.
i'm pretty sure the difference between the two is that
computer systems = 50% electrical engineering, 50% computer science
and
computer science = 100% computer science
if you don't get into ENG you'll definitely get into SEP... Particle Man is right that BU can't say no to that SAT score
